Oudehaven. Oudehaven is the oldest wharf of Rotterdam. It was constructed in 1351. During the bombings of 1940 this zone was almost totally destroyed. The modernization of the zone was ordered by architect Peit Blom in 1977. The wharf is also an outdoor museum of historical boats. In Oudehaven is also the Koningspoort shipyard, a place where Dutch historical ships can be repaired. In this wharf we can also find the Cubic Houses, the White House and the Wijnhaven houses. |

Delfshaven. This wharf was the departure point of the Travelling Parents Puritanos, towards America in 1620. The white Americans consider this trip like the beginning of their history. Also it is the birthplace of the naval hero Dutch Piet Heyn who captured the Spanish Fleet of Silver in the Caribbean in 1628. The historical buildings and their colorful wharves brings us back to the Dutch Golden Age. Today, Delfshaven, is an outdoor museum with the old mill De Distelleerketel and the old merchant boats anchored in the wharves. |

Parkhaven. The wharf of Parkhaven owes its name to the adjacent green area, Het Park. Most of the boats that come to this wharf use it as a crossing point. In its entrance is the floating building Ocean Palace, a complex with a Chinese restaurant, a hotel and an Oriental supermarket. Next to it is the Pancake Boat and the high speed shuttle The Flying Dutchman. |
