Rotterdam has more than 30 museums. The most visited are the Boymans van Beauningen, the Maritimum Museum and the History Museum (Shielandhuis).

The relation between the city of Rotterdam and modern times is evident in its impressive architecture. Special mention the Weena building, a great block of offices and apartments, located in the commercial centre of the city, a typical example of architecture oriented to the world of business.

The Cubic Houses complex is another construction that should be mentioned. One of them can be visited to get an idea of how life is in such a unique building. The most recent structure that follows the artistic tradition is the spectacular Bridge Erasmus, an abstract combination of steel and concrete.

If we want to get an idea of the glorious years of Rotterdam, some historical signs are waiting to be discovered in different places of the city like the City Hall, Chamber of Commerce, the Post Office and Het Shielandhuis.

One of the most popular spots for the tourist is the district of Delfshaven. This colourful zone dates from the XIV century and although it was destroyed by fire it was later reconstructed.
