De Delft. De Delft was the name of an old ship from the Dutch navy that was sunk during the battle of Camperdown against the English Navy in 1797. Two hundred years later pieces of the ship were found accidentally by a fisherman and the idea to make a replica of the original one arose. What can be seen in this museum-shipyard is the process of construction of the ship. The long craftsman process which took in the XVIII only months to be finished, at the present time will last until the year 2011. |
